Golden sands, crystal-clear waters, colour flowers, wild nature, quaint little villages, and local markets.
Here, there is so much to see, feel, drink, taste, touch, and do.
Whether they are nostalgic memories for those who are already familiar with them, romantic dates for those who want to relive them, or incredible discoveries for those experiencing them for the first time, some destinations are truly unmissable.
The spectacle is magnificent, amid forests of oaks and chestnuts, it is possible to spot a peregrine falcon or one of the numerous deer grazing freely.
You can reach the summit by following one of the various trails or, more comfortably, by means of the evocative two-seater cable car.
The panoramic view from the top is incredible, encompassing not only the entire island of Elba but also the farthest islands of the Archipelago.
On the clearest days, the view extends all the way to Corsica.
Set aside an afternoon of your vacation for a visit to the residences of Napoleon Bonaparte; with a single ticket, you can visit both of them.
You could start with Villa San Martino, home to the National Museum of Napoleon’s Residences on the island of Elba, and then continue your excursion with the Palazzina dei Mulini (the official residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and his court during his short exile on Elba) and its beautiful garden.
This way, you can also see the old town, find many wonderful spots for your photos, and maybe decide to dine in one of the many restaurants.
Pianosa Island can only be reached from Elba.
It is a small island, inaccessible up until a few years ago seeing as it used to be a penal colony, whilst today it is a true paradise within the Archipelago Park.
You can dive into its crystal-clear waters, tour the island by bicycle or wheelchair, and enjoy many other activities organized by the park guides.
The memory of this pristine paradise, where fearless fish come to meet you, will stay with you in your heart.
As in few other places here you can actually walk around and get lost in the villages where time seems to have stopped; the Elban villages are pure poetry.
Here, you can still take a stroll along the seafront at night to see the lights of the fishing boats shimmering on the sea, or visit San Piero, a true museum village, or Capoliveri, a tourist paradise.
Cycling enthusiasts will also remember that Elba was one of the training destinations for Fausto Coppi.
In Capoliveri, on the eastern part of the Island of Elba, you will find the Capoliveri Bike Park, a paradise for bikers who have over a hundred kilometres of roads and trails at their fingertips.
The Bike Park offers trails of various types and levels of difficulty: from family-friendly itineraries to technical trails suitable for training.
